About Me

Hello, my name is Paula Romero, and I am the founder of Healthy Easy Food.

I was born and raised in Brazil. My mother’s cooking has always been a big part of my life, and I grew up in a family that shared that passion.

Working as a chemist in a lab for over 13 years, I often considered how much cooks and chemists have in common, as they both manipulate ingredients and substances to produce a finished product, despite the fact that I was not a big fan of cooking at the time.

When I moved to South Florida in 2001 in my early 30s, I started working in a field other than a lab for a few years, which didn’t leave me much time for cooking other than on weekends, not to mention that with my work schedule, I ate what was more convenient and practical rather than what was healthier for me.

On weekends, I was constantly experimenting in the kitchen, looking for new recipes and techniques to try.

I soon realized that my passion for food went beyond simply enjoying a good meal.

It was past time to take action.

What began as a hobby turned into a Culinary Degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2007.

I began to develop a new relationship with food.

Even though I’ve never worked as a chef, cooking healthy and simple recipes has given me a new perspective on food and how it can transform people’s lives in so many ways.

It made a significant difference in both my and my husband’s lives a few years ago.

It has also shown those around me that eating healthy does not have to be boring or difficult.

I also love pasta, which is one of my all-time favorite foods! Especially fresh pasta!

I’ve been devoting a lot of time to fresh pasta making, teaching how to make fresh pasta online (pandemic mode), which isn’t bad considering that we can have students from all over the world, including family members from other states and even countries!

These online classes also introduced me to a new experience, YouTube.

My commitment to a physically active and healthy lifestyle has remained constant even though I’m working a full-time job. It’s only the beginning of a new chapter for me; reinventing myself at this point in my life will have its challenges, but I am sure it will also have many rewards.

Try something new, take care of yourself; it’s never too late.

So come along with me and I’ll show you how simple it is to prepare healthy and easy food.
